You know, when I first decided to do this comic, I said that I would avoid fanservice as much as possible, to avoid sexy stuff as a crutch for the comic and to show that you don't need to objectify women to be successful.
But here I've gone and given women a lot to look forward to.
To be a little fair on Rabble, she's kinda inviting those looks with her getup.
I really can't imagine that skirt to be 'comfortable to move in'.
I mean, Galgarion is wearing that big robe and nobody would ever guess what kind of body is carrying it (which is kinda the concept behind the Burka, and no, I do not support the concept of forcing women to wear that).
Now, back to the more serious exposition...what kind of sick bastard actually MAKES McGuffins like that, who corrupt the minds of their users?
But then again, maybe they weren't made that way.
Maybe it's not even the books fault.
As they say: 'Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.'
If I was suddenly given power beyond my imagination, I'm not sure if I would be able to handle it.
Sure, at first I'd probably try to help and stuff...but at some point, someone will piss me off with their pleading (or trying to kill me because they want the power for themselves).
And only at that point I'll know how I'll react.
Good thing I'm just a programmer and not very likely to get my hands on the keys to the universe. :D
As I recall, these books are about how to be evil, the 2 books we've seen, the Tiger and Phoenix, are about evil ethics and world conquest. Reading them corrupts the reader's mind and drives them to detestable actions. Eikre's old school friend was driven to murder Eikre's mother and neighbor, and furthermore he was able to achieve a high rank in an evil military organization. Galgarion was driven to seek out that mask and steal souls to power a device to conquer the world with. Plus they gained elemental abilities, metal and fire control. I'm seeing a sort of Necronomicon thing going on with these books, perhaps written by a powerful demon offering power to mortals as a way to manifest itself in the living realm or something.
I might be off base here, but I feel like he'd be way more into Detestai than Cherry. I actually read this comic as Rabble just hanging out in the background, rather than letching at Cherry's butt. Although I'm surprised he's not chilling in the Menu Bar. Heh, maybe he's underage.
Detestai is Rabble Rouser's Sister!?! So did Diane's mom have an earlier family that we didn't learn about til now? I definitely missed that in my latest read through.
Rabble: Well, a lot of grown up talk has been happening, interpersonal stuff between people I only met about an hour ago, some lady I never heard of apparently came back from the dead, not like I've had much to contribute to the conversation here, figured I'd just stand behind the cute elf chick and wait for the next battle.
Also, I HOPE Galgarion is wearing pants just off panel...seriously...
I thought the same, but fortunately you can see he's got boxers in comic 18: http://rpgworld.the-comic.org/comics/18/ so he's probably not just swinging dong around at everybody.

And Rabble is indeed underage!
Detestai is not Rabble's sister. Diane is rabble's sister. lol.
I need to get some sleep or something, damn.
