#562 - Making a Splash

#562 - Making a Splash

HEY sorry for the late update! This page needed some revisions and I literally added the bubbles right now before work thus ensuring I'll be late today. B) Nice.

EDIT: I'm finding out a lot of you don't remember certain things! Like the silhouetted figure Oligarch was talking to-- he's not new! You can actually see Oligarch speaking to him way back in this page. I also had him appear at the beginning of the revival, again speaking with Oligarch. I also thought this was him, way back in page 149, and actually started building the mythos of the mysterious silhouetted figure around him, but Ian confirmed this is Oligarch in the orb.

Also, some of you don't seem to remember Reka, or what happened to her. She was stabbed. By Galgarion. I also included this in the refresher page when I started the revival!

I work really hard to make all the existing puzzle pieces fit with my new ones, without trying to introduce too many unnecessary new things. I like to hope that you guys are able to keep up and follow everything going on! And if you get a chance to re-read the old comic, you might appreciate some of the things that happen or draw connections to!

Another note: I've had some people say the artwork doesn't work (like panels don't flow well) or Plum's ears are wrong, and so on. I get it. I pay Atari to make the artwork, and he doesn't know the comic as well (so details might slip through), and English isn't his first language, so panel details might not flow sometimes. He works at a big discount for me, so I appreciate everything I get from him and can't be too picky sometimes. At the end of the day, nothing can be perfect so we move forward the best we can!

Anyway that's my spiel. Thanks for reading guys! I hope you enjoy the comic as much as I enjoy making it.

Wait isn't Dragobo supposed to be in the Menu Bar right now. I mean there are so many member of the party right now and We've only seen a few of them.

All rules are suspended during cut scenes.

Most airships have all party members hanging about somewhere, mostly so you can have random conversations with them and/or change party members. I assume if we explore the whole group is around somewhere.

Possibly at a bar still, but hey.

Hmm...I'll assume this relates to the 'Time toaster' page a little back.

To be honest, I can't seem to remember, how and when Reka died, but that's probably due to it having been quite a while ago.

However my 'issue' is of a different nature.
If we assume the robots have succeeded in preventing her death, they altered the past into one where Reka did not die.

If we assume the timestream to be linear, this change would bubble up to the 'present' and it would be as if she never died to begin with.

Meaning that Reka would not 'suddenly appear', but much rather have been there all the time.

However, to rectify this little paradox (we must not forget that this is a comical comic ;)), a rather simple solution comes to mind.

Reka was removed from the past where she was supposed to have died and suspended between dimensions up to this very moment, where she literally got spit out from the river of time.

Meaning that for the past she was 'gone' (not 'dead', but merely 'gone', which sums up to the same thing for most) and can now show up again.

And yes, I am thinking too much. :D

Well, first I'll say it's worth reading the original comics again! I can't imagine you have ANY idea what's going on otherwise.

Second, if you go back and read the original Time Toaster explanation wayyy back when Ian drew it, and also my explanation in the previous Time Toaster page, you'll see how the Time Toaster does not change the past, it realigns the present. It makes changes to the current world based on the events of the new past, but does not change the past. :)

But wouldn't 'realigning the present to the new past' not come with altering the memory of those in this present as well?

Besides, according to the multiverse theory, you cannot 'alter' the past at all (or the present you came from), but much rather by traveling back to the 'present', you would end up in a future which is based on the past you created, while the reality you left behind (whose past you set out to alter) remains unaffected.

Which in turn means, that you cease to exist in that universe you came from and exist twice in the universe you return to (seeing how in that universe the traveling to the past never happened, because the reason you went back never happened).

Okay, way off topic, I'll stop now. :)

And I do have a vague idea of what's going on, no worries. :)

And, if you go read Ian's original explanation (http://rpgworld.keenspot.com/d/20041217.html,) he covers that ;)

I like the comments though, keep em coming! :D

yay Reka is back! So they still remember Galgarion killing her, and Reka should still hate her because he killed her father, but she's alive again!

Yay! We get Reka back! On the downside even leveling will be a pain in the ass now.

Yay! Caught up through the archive of the revival! Sorry I'm late to the party. I somehow missed it at the start then suffered a concussion back in December of 2016 so I had massive headaches and memory stuff to deal with, but that's the past. Now on to the fun of waiting on the latest post! Take all the time you need, it's been a fun ride so far.

Oh! That all sounds really unpleasant! But glad to have you on board and enjoying the comic! :D
