You may have forgotten that Jeff has Eikre's glove, from all the way back in #557! It's been a while. Four years in fact! Hoo-wee! We've been doing this a long time. And all we've accomplished is having a mechanic make out with a fish.
Enemies carrying things is not uncommon. Kill a pack of bees, earn a new sword - that sort of thing.
I'm now expecting a battle with the dogs, and the glove being retrieved that way. "Got Eikre's right glove!" (The glove currently on his right hand is an inside out left glove. see 587)
Any chance that they accidentally get 1 glove per dog, an a programming error? That would give him some spares should his glove be taken again. Betting odds?
"Due to a programming oversight, if all three Heck Hounds are killed in the same turn the player will receive 3 "Eikre's Right Glove" key items at the end of combat. These extra items are useless, but they can be taken to The Forger and combined into "Eikre's Left Glove", since three rights make a left. This extra glove is equally useless."
oh wait, my first comment was about the "heck hound" thing being good old fashioned video game dub censoring, but I just realized upon re-reading the comic where Eikre lost his glove that there WAS a point to that choice in the cutscene. If he hadn't tried to save Jeff he wouldn't have lost the glove and now the heck hounds wouldn't have been able to target him as effectively, again the player keeps on playing the game in a way that makes it harder for himself.
Yay for leaving the mouse pointer on the image while eating cereal to find out there's float text!
"... And all we've accomplished is having a mechanic make out with a fish."
Narratively speaking, if you've gotten far enough that your audience has just accepted that as a "thing," I think you've done pretty good up to that point.
"And kill his friends if they get in the way"
Rabble Rouser: I kinda just met the guy
Diana: Look at my track record.
Hero Group: We ain't even there so we don't know what your talking about.
Dragobo / 347 group: Same.
Galgarion: Ha ha ha
Jeff: Why are you pointing the camera at me!
I don't remember how Detestia and Eikre interact. Eikre knew who she was when the blimp arrived. And she is happy he saved her from falling off the blimp for sure. I just don't remember how they knew each other before that.
So Jeff is in this strip then. IF not for the text bubbles in panel #3 I would have though it was the mysterious Oligarch since Jeff is all hiding in the shadows.
Indeed. Jeff has undergone a bit of a transformation on page #578 https://rpgworld.the-comic.org/comics/82/, and seems to be playing the shadows for dramatic effect. (He does that.)
8/10 comment; 2 points off for misspelling Detestai and Diane's names 😎

Very briefly.
