Cherry, you've got to get your priorities straight. If you progress too far along the main quest, you might trigger an event flag that will lock out the collect 20 bare-bear pelts for the weapon that grants 2 more points of attack than the one in the shop and is completely outclassed by the weapon found in the very next dungeon.
Do YOU want to be responsible for that 15 minutes of trivial weakness that probably won't make any difference? I think not!

Cherry, you just got your level lowered in the last event, you might NEED to do these sidequests in order to be strong enough to take on the main quest boss

Big Fish is an underrated movie, and it's especially relevent here in a city of fish people.
