Poor Reka. Her dad has a bigger chest than her.

As an RPG World lore expert, I feel like today's comic destroys the established rules of the universe and completely undermines the character's motivations and personalities for the sake of a cheap joke and it makes me sick.

If you turn your attention to page 177, Reka CLEARLY refers to her father's treasure but as you can see, there are no "grey hairs" or some-such "sea algae". The very suggestion is laughable at best and scientifically disingenuous at worst. Today's comic not only contributes nothing to real world science, but if anything, ruins it.

Furthermore, the fact that Reka's swimsuit is creating cleavage when Cherry's is not, despite being THE SAME MATERIAL indicates that the "artist" (and I use that term lightly) is accentuating her bovine features at the expense of immersion (underwater pun absolutely not intended, how dare you). Even if we were to believe that the depth pressure is enough to wedge the latex material in like that, why isn't it happening to Cherry? Immersion: RUINED.

Furtherermore, the character interactions over a simple chest (which we can reasonably assume the characters have interacted with on semi-frequent occasions in the past) comes out of nowhere. It proves that the author (and I use that term lightly) is forcing an otherwise inorganic situation in order to set up a crude joke that ruins my immersion and insults me personally.

I mean what's the point? What's the point in having in-world rules at all if you're not going to follow them? I mean screw it, just have Hero fight a house then. It's a circus.

I have never been so upset in my life. I expect a full and complete apology next week.

A-ha! Fool that you are!

One page 177 Reka DOES reference her father's chest, but time has passed since then! It's perfectly reasonable to assume that algae could have grown in that time, or that they are only rendered for the cutscene and not in-game!

For the accusation that their interacting with the chest is out of nowhere, False! Hero and Diane both interacted with the chest and tried to get it up to the ship and failed, when they first met Reka!

Thirdly, you'll notice all characters are completely within their personalities! Cherry is commenting on the chest innocently, Hero is very naively explaining his experience with the chest, Tuna is earnestly expressing her opinion of Reka's chest, and the only one who is not referencing the actual chest itself!

Finally, as for the insidious accusation that the artist draws things completely unrealistically to accentuate female features----- yeah. yeah does. he do that :|

How dare you.

If algae had indeed grown in the time passed, then there is no scientific precedent for it growing in one specific spot and not ALL over the chest. Would you have us believe that it COINCIDENTALLY started growing JUST enough for JUST this period of time to make JUST this one joke? No number exists for how infinitesimally fractional the chances of that happening are.

As for rendering, comic 328 clearly shows a cutscene transition in which NO algae has been rendered; thusly, there is NO precedent for random algae generation. Unless you're claiming it's growing on Hero/Cherry in places we can't see. What a horrific thing to suggest!

Unfalse! Hero and Diane interacted with ONE chest and only because they failed, thus making it noteworthy to...uh...note. There would be no precedent for discussion over an innate chest otherwise; the situation is forced and you should feel bad!

Fourthfully! You sir have grossly misunderstood the characters of this comic for too long now and your villainy at last reveals itself! Cherry is not innocent but suffering from a crippling inferiority complex. Hero is clearly suffering from a Don Juan complex. And Reka is struggling with a Madonna complex. And Tuna is...uh...cajun seasoned. By two-dimensionalizing their complex mental health complexities, you've cheapened the whole story and completely broke all my IMMERSION!!!

As a loyal reader and RPG world expert, I'm astounded. The only question left to ask is: have you no shame?

One! No I do not. None.

Two! Diane and Hero interacted with this very same chest, thus his experiences are correct!

Finally... All the other stuff you said .. NYEH! *makes faces at you*

You fiend!! Stand and fight! And...and...

...man, how do the people who are always lore-correcting you in the comments do this? This is exhausting

As you have may have discovered, attempts at lore correction requires one to first become a lore walker. As my comment on the last page indicates, it doesn't necessarily indicate thorough knowledge on the matter. In 184, the underwater assets of the scuba suits did not show the coverage of the mouth and nose, but the suits themselves do have rebreathers, shown in 179! This style of simplification also matches the manner that would explain the new 'algae' (if it be that, rather than other itinerant sea detritus)

184 also shows that the chest is guarded by the sea creature shown on the map. Prepare for a boss battle unless it is an illusion trap, and won't be seen with unlocking the chest.

I will cry fowl on the reference to 328; though the page does show a cutscene, the ballroom dance is not set underwater, so algae appearing then wouldst be out of place then.

If you seek discontinuity, the controls in 179 indicate that hero's idea of reading the speech bubbles is unnecessary, though it would be in character for him to not remember.

--

I will say again that Tuna continues to show her usefulness. Books do not respond well to sea water, and will need the 'water replacement effects' to keep the chest's contents from soaking, since the chest is clearly too stubborn to be moved.

I am fairly certain that she knows the others are referring to the strongbox, and intentionally referring to anatomy as a hidden reference only she and Reka would understand. Otherwise, I would think it would be her, rather than Cherry, asking the question in panel 4's sub-panel.

It's also possible that she's seen the box before as well, and that her sight from the pool of the box's wood makes it look lovely. ... I think that would be a stretch, even with how defined the chest is.

Completely off topic but has any of them seen Reka's breasts? I mean Cherry slept with her (non-sexually) and they had an outfit change for that so I feel like it's a legitimate if out-of-left-field question.

I think you can have something to say about somebody's breasts without seeing them naked. The lady walks around in a one-piece swimsuit all the time, I'm sure they've got thoughts.
